Most international visitors to Turkey need either an e-Visa or a sticker visa, but the exact rules differ by nationality. Some travellers can apply online in minutes; others must hold a supporting visa or residence permit from a Schengen country, the USA, the UK or Ireland; and a few must apply at a consulate. Knowing which group you fall into before you book saves time and avoids surprises at the airport.

One thing to expect: after you open evisa.gov.tr the application is handled by DTV Danışmanlık (dtvgroup.com.tr). That is the official operator — it was established in 2024 by the Turkish Foreign Ministry’s own foundation to take visa applications on behalf of Türkiye’s embassies and consulates. Only apply through the link on evisa.gov.tr, and never pay a third-party “visa service” that charges more than the portal shows.

Yes. Indian passport holders need a visa to enter Turkey. Many Indian travellers can use the online e-Visa, but only if they also hold a valid visa or residence permit from a Schengen member state, the USA, the UK or Ireland. Without one, the only route is a sticker visa from a Turkish mission. Confirm the latest rules on evisa.gov.tr.
Can Indian citizens get a Turkey e-Visa?
Yes, but on a conditional basis. Holders of ordinary, special and service Indian passports qualify only if they also hold a valid Schengen, US, UK or Irish visa or residence permit. Without one of those, the e-Visa is not available at all and you must apply for a sticker visa at a Turkish consulate.
