Turkey is a four-hour flight from Dubai and Abu Dhabi, with departures almost every hour, which puts Istanbul, Cappadocia, the Aegean coast and Pamukkale within reach of a long weekend rather than a proper holiday. The question still comes first, though: do Emiratis need a visa for Turkey, and is there anything to arrange before flying? The short answer is no — Emirati citizens are visa exempt for short visits, and your passport is the only travel document you need.

It is not unlimited, though: it covers stays of up to 90 days within a 180-day period.

The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs states the allowance as 90 days in any 180-day period, so the clock does not reset simply because you leave and come back — separate trips inside the same 180-day window are added together. With flights this frequent that adds up faster than people expect: a few weekends in Istanbul and a summer month on the coast draw on the same 90 days. If you are anywhere near the cap, verify your position on the Ministry country entry before you book — the counting rule is the detail travellers most often get wrong.
For a short tourist visit, no. Because the UAE is visa exempt, there is nothing to apply for and nothing to pay — you do not need an e-Visa. You can still confirm your own status in a minute on the official Republic of Türkiye portal at evisa.gov.tr: select the United Arab Emirates as your country and the tool will tell you whether a visa is required. Ignore third-party "visa" websites offering to sell Emiratis a Turkey visa — the government site is the only official source.
There is no fee. Visa exemption means exactly that: no visa charge, no service charge and no portal payment for a qualifying short visit. The exemption applies to ordinary (tourist) passports travelling for tourism or short business, and it covers the 90-day allowance described above — it is not a residence or work permission. If you hold a non-ordinary passport, or travel for another purpose, check the specific requirements on the official sources before making plans.
Visa-free entry still depends on your passport being acceptable. Airlines and border officers generally expect an ordinary Emirati passport with comfortable remaining validity beyond your trip, and that requirement is set by the Turkish authorities rather than by your airline. Confirm the current rule for UAE passports on the official sources before you book, and renew early if yours is close to expiry.
There is no visa paperwork, but immigration may still ask what any traveller is asked: a return or onward ticket, proof of accommodation and evidence of sufficient funds for your stay. None of it is usually a problem — keep your hotel booking and itinerary on your phone. If you are visiting family or friends, or staying in a private apartment, having the address written down saves time at the desk.
On arrival in Turkey, present your Emirati passport at passport control. With no visa to show, clearance is normally quick — officers may ask about your hotel, how long you are staying and your return flight. Keep your onward ticket and accommodation details reachable, and note your entry date, since the 90-day count starts from it.
