How long to go for
From Indonesia, a Turkey trip usually runs nine to fourteen days on the ground, reflecting both the flight distance and the fact that many trips travel as a group with a fixed departure and return date. Seven or eight nights covers Istanbul and Cappadocia at a group pace. Ten to eleven nights, the most common group itinerary, adds Pamukkale and Ephesus. Larger rombongan sometimes travel with their own cook or bring specific ingredients, which needs kitchen access agreed with each property well before departure. Guiding in Bahasa Indonesia is available for group sizes but limited in number of qualified guides, so it needs to be booked early, particularly around the Lebaran and school-holiday peaks when demand for Indonesian-speaking guides is highest; English-speaking guiding is available at short notice throughout the country.
