Tour Overview

Are you ready to discover the third largest city of Turkey with us? Izmir, the pearl of the Aegean truly deserves to be titled as ‘’beautiful’’ by locals. It was known as “Smyrna” in ancient times and this name is believed to be derived from a beautiful queen of Amazons, the legendary female warriors.

Your tour starts with a drive to Kadifekale, an ancient castle where you will enjoy the panoramic views of the city and the gulf of Izmir. Izmir - of which the oldest name is Smyrna - as refounded by Alexander the Great in Mt Pagos (Kadifekale today).

See the ancient artifacts like marble statues, busts, portraits and masks housed in Archeology Museum taken from neighboring ancient sites such as Ephesus, Pergamon, Miletus, Aphrodisias, Clazomenae, Teos, Iasos.

Historical Elevator was built by a Jewish businessman, Nesim Levi, in 1907. Today it is a must-see before you leave Izmir you will catch the best photo shot of the city at the elevator.

Visit the Kemeralti is a historical bazaar which was first founded under the reign of Ottomans in 16th century. This is where you will experience the local way of shopping with thousands of local shops selling traditional -but not touristy-handcrafts, ceramics, textile products, leather clothes, gold and silver jewelleries, shoes, spices.
