Pamukkale

Pamukkale, meaning "cotton castle" in Turkish, is one of Turkey's most extraordinary natural wonders. This UNESCO World Heritage site features stunning white terraces of carbonate minerals formed by flowing water from the area's hot springs.

The gleaming white travertine terraces cascade down the hillside, creating pools filled with mineral-rich thermal waters that have been used for their therapeutic properties since Roman times. The otherworldly landscape makes it a photographer's paradise and a unique place to visit.

Above the terraces lies the ancient Greco-Roman spa city of Hierapolis, with impressively preserved ruins including a well-preserved theater, ancient thermal baths, and the Necropolis (graveyard), one of the largest in the ancient world with more than 1,200 tombs.
